Crop Progress Snapshot

  • Corn: 14% planted, up 6% from last week.  3% ahead of the 5-year average.  3% of the crop is emerged.
  • Soybeans: 9% planted, up 5% from last week.  5% ahead of the 5-year average.
  • Spring Wheat:  5% planted, up 2% from last week.  7% behind the 5-year average.
  • Winter Wheat:  26% Good/Excellent, a drop of 1% from last week.  41% of the crop has a Poor/Very Poor rating.  This is the worst reported crop conditions since 1989.

Cool Weather 

  • Cooler temperatures across the Midwest for the next two-weeks could slow seeding and emergence.

Export Sales Cancellations

  • Yesterday morning, private exporters reporting a cancellation of 327,000 metric tons (about 12.9 million bushels) of corn to China for the 2022/2023 marketing year.
