It's Officially a Weather Market

Volatility is on the rise with the ever changing weather forecasts and a looming USDA report. Grain markets were firm in the early morning trade but failed to sustain that momentum through mid-morning. At the close, July corn futures were 11 ½ cents lower to 597 ½. The new crop December contract was 4 ¼ lower to 537. On the soybean side, we saw the July contract 2 ½ cents lower to 1350 at the close. The new crop November contract settled the day 4 cents lower to 1179 ¾. Wheat was the bring spot in the grains with the July Chicago contract trading a nickel higher to 624.
